MY FAVOURITE SONGS AND LYRICS
1.Heaven
Heaven Lyrics
Oh - thinkin about all our younger years
There was only you and me
We were young and wild and free
Now nothin can take you away from me
Weve been down that road before
But thats over now
You keep me comin back for more
And baby, youre all that I want
When youre lyin here in my arms
Im findin it hard to believe
Were in heaven
And love is all that I need
And I found it there in your heart
It isnt too hard to see
Were in heaven
Oh - once in your life you find someone
Who will turn your world around
Bring you up when youre feelin down
Yeah - nothin could change what you mean to me
Oh theres lots that I could say
But just hold me now
Cause our love will light the way
And baby, youre all that I want
When youre lyin here in my arms
Im findin it hard to believe
Were in heaven
And love is all that I need
And I found it there in your heart
It isnt too hard to see
Were in heaven
Ive been waitin for so long
For somethin to arrive
For love to come along
Now our dreams are comin true
Through the good times and the bad
Yeah - Ill be standin there by you
And baby, youre all that I want
When youre lyin here in my arms
Im findin it hard to believe
Were in heaven
And love is all that I need
And I found it there in your heart
It isnt too hard to see
Were in heaven, heaven, oooh
Youre all that I want
Youre all that I need
Were in heaven
Were in heaven
Were in heaven

My (personal) best favourite : Heaven
2.Everything I do
Everything I do Lyrics
Look into my eyes – you will see
What you mean to me.
Search your heart, search your soul
And when you find me there youll search no more.
Dont tell me its not worth tryin for.
You cant tell me its not worth dyin for.
You know its true:
Everything I do, I do it for you.
Look into your heart – you will find
Theres nothin there to hide.
Take me as I am, take my life.
I would give it all, I would sacrifice.
Dont tell me its not worth fightin for
I cant help it, theres nothin I want more
You know its true:
Everything I do, I do it for you, oh, yeah.
Theres no love like your love
And no other could give more love.
Theres nowhere unless youre there
All the time, all the way, yeah.
Look into your heart, baby...
Oh, you cant tell me its not worth tryin for.
I cant help it, theres nothin I want more.
Yeah, I would fight for you, Id lie for you,
Walk the wire for you, yeah, Id die for you.

Everything I do, oh, I do it for you.
Everything I do, darling.
You will see its true.
You will see its true.
Yeah!
Search your heart and your soul
You cant tell its not worth dying for
Ill be there
Id walk the fire for you
Id die for you
Oh, yeah.
Im going all the time, all the way.
3.Summer of 69
Summer of 69 Lyrics
I got my first real six-string
Bought it at the five-and-dime
Played it til my fingers bled
It was the summer of 69
Me and some guys from school
Had a band and we tried real hard.
Jimmy quit, Jody got married
I shouldve known wed never get far
Oh, when I look back now
That summer seemed to last forever
And if I had the choice
Yeah, Id always wanna be there
Those were the best days of my life
Aint no use in complainin
When youve got a job to do
Spent my evenings down at the drive-in
And thats when I met you, yeah
Standin on your mamas porch
You told me that youd wait forever
Oh, and when you held my hand
I knew that it was now or never
Those were the best days of my life
Oh, yeah.
Back in the summer of 69, oh.
Man we were killin time
We were young and restless
We needed to unwind
I guess nothin can last forever, forever, no!
And now the times are changin
Look at everything thats come and gone
Sometimes when I play that old six-string
I think about you, wonder what went wrong
Standin on your mamas porch
You told me that itd last forever
Oh, and when you held my hand
I knew that it was now or never
Those were the best days of my life
Oh, yeah.
Back in the summer of 69, oh.
It was the summer of 69, oh, yeah.
Me and my baby in 69, oh.
It was the summer, the summer, the summer of 69, yeah.
4.Back To You
Back To You Lyrics
Ive been down - Ive been beat
Ive been so tired-that I could not speak
Ive been so lost thatt I could not see
I wanted things that were out of reach
then I found you and you helped me through
and ya showed me what to do
And thats why Im comin back to you...
[Chorus:]
Like a star that guides a ship across the ocean
thats how your love will take me home back to you
And if I wish upon that star - someday Ill be where you are
I know that day is coming soon - ya, Im coming back to you.
Youve been alone, but ya did not show it
Youve been in pain, but did not know it
Let me do what I needed to - you were there when I needed you
Mighta let you down, mighta messed you round
but ya never changed your point of view
and thats why Im comin back to you...
[Repeat Chorus]
Im coming back to you
Im coming back to you
Im coming back to you
That day is coming soon
Im coming back to you

The Simple and Best Ways To Stick To Your Weight Loss Plan
The issue with reducing your weight is searching ways to stick with your weight loss plan with so many distractions sabotaging your efforts. The call of tantalizing sweets or a busy schedule heading the list, and also who can say no to chocolate cupcakes? Some have the strength, but I certainly don’t! Every weight loss program has an end goal. If you are eager to accomplish it, then stick to my best 7 methods to stick to your weight loss plan.

- START SMALLSome ladies jump right into the weight loss program, but the bestadviceis to move it slow. Begin with small changes in your eating routine; add in a little fun workout such as Zumba and with small steps integrate your weight-loss strategy into your lifestyle. A few weeks of consistent concentrate on the changes you can manage, and you will notice outcomes that brings you nearer to your fitness goals.
- FIND A DIET BUDDYYou and a weight-loss buddy can be each other’s moral and emotional assistance as you follow the diet plan which includes discussing better ways to stay fit. Basically, being there for each other as «weight loss sisters». If you are having problems with weight-loss, there is absolutely no better companion than an empathetic buddy.
- SCHEDULE YOUR MEALSIt is easier to manage what you consume if you have a set time for your meals. It is understandably hard to restrain yourself until the hands of the clock give you permission, but you need to try. It also assists to prepare small portions of healthy snacks in your fridge so you can have a little nibble when you feel the hunger.
- DEAL WITH EMOTIONAL EATINGIf you consume because you are sad or unhappy, then it is not easy to follow any weight loss program without 1st dealing with these feelings. You have to listen to your body, ask yourself the reason behind your requirement for food, is it a physical urge or are you just looking to unburden your emotional stress. Once you can tell the difference, it is just a matter of managing yourself
- AVOID TROUBLE ZONESYour favorite bakery, McDonalds... any place which compels you to break your weightloss plan should be avoided at all costs. It is best to take a different route from work instead of crying over gained calories. If you can’t avoid these kinds of dens of temptation, then mentally fortify yourself against them. Remind yourself of your weightloss plan and your goals and avoid with all your might or better still - take a friend to bodily restrain you.
- KEEP THE REWARDS IN MINDPush yourself towards your weight loss goals. Every time you feel like giving up, help remind yourself of your reward. A healthy body. A trim waist. To finally fit into your old jeans. The benefits must be continuously in the forefront of your mind and you must always tell yourself you can do it.
- OVERCOME SETBACKSIn the beginning, you may fall off the wagon a few times, your resolve may waver and you will dive into fast food and sweets. Don’t be disheartened; pick yourself up and also vow to stay true to your weight loss plan. What is important is your dedication, not how many times you fall.
Do you think these tips are useful? Which of them is most effective for you? I would like to know what works for you, so please share!
Teaching Place Value the DIY Montessori Way
Recently I came across a video from a fellow YouTube Mom who demonstrated the Montessori way of teaching place value through layered cards. So I got inspired and stayed up a little bit late to make a set of my own. I happened to have a few stacks of blank "Word Strips" from the Dollar Tree laying around. They have traditional lines on one side and they are blank on the other. I chose to use the blank side because I figured it would be less distracting. You can cut your own cards from cardstock or posterboard, but I found it to be much easier to just have to cut the length.

Initially I thought about nice they would be if I printed them in color on the computer, used my paper cutter (which is packed away at the moment), laminated them, etc... and then I realized that a DONE project is better than a PERFECT project! So I whipped it out in just an hour or two and while its not perfect, its still effective and thats what matters.
.JPG)
I color coded mine in Do Re Mi colors since my kids are already familiar with the sequence and I figured it would help them remember the order better. The cards werent long enough for some of the bigger numbers, so I wrote on them first and then used packing tape to tape them together. They are relatively sturdy.
.JPG)
I included a small chart to set next to it to simplify reading the columns. My kids knew some of these already, but not up to a million. We have a spiral flip chart where all of the numbers are already connected, but this way of layering them is just more child friendly IMO. They can see everything at once and grab whatever they need, versus only being able to see one number at a time on the chart.
I measured out two inch lines to create a guide, which I laid next to each card as I wrote on it. Its important that each column is covered up properly when layering the cards so the numbers needed to be sorta-kinda straight and evenly spaced. :)

Heres a link to the original video from YouTube Super Mom EarlyLearningAtHome who inspired me to make these cards. She is sooooo crafty, Im sure youll enjoy browsing her channel as much as I do!

Carbohydrates Classification and the Role of Carbohydrates

Carbohydrates are one of the substances that are required in the human metabolic system. Carbohydrates include the most abundant organic compound on earth. These compounds have a variety of functions in the human metabolic system performance, mainly as a reserve food as "fuel", and builder materials.
In addition, carbohydrates also have a stake in the process of photosynthesis. In the process of photosynthesis, plants convert carbon dioxide into carbohydrates. Carbohydrates are the main energy-forming substances humans in performing all daily activities. Sources of carbs include whole grains and their processed products and tubers.
Classification of Carbohydrates
Monosaccharide
Monosaccharides are the simplest carbohydrates because the molecule consists only of a few atoms C and can not be described by way of hydrolysis into other carbohydrates. Monosaccharides divided into two, namely aldose and ketosa. Examples of aldose called glucose and galactose. While ketosa example is fructose.
Disaccharide
Disaccharide is a carbohydrate that is formed from two monosaccharide molecules bonded through-OH groups by releasing water molecules. Examples of disaccharides are sucrose, lactose, and maltose.
Polysaccharides
Polysaccharides are carbohydrates composed of many saccharides as a monomer. The general formula is C6 polysaccharides (H10O5) n. Examples of polysaccharides are cellulose, glycogen, and starch.
Biological Role of Carbohydrates
Role of the Biosphere
The process of photosynthesis to provide food for almost all life on earth, either directly or indirectly. Organisms autotraof (which can turn into organic inorganic materials), such as green plants, bacteria and algae utilize direct result of photosynthesis. While the majority of heterotrophic organisms (which require organic compounds), including humans really depends on the organism autrotrof to get food.
Role As Fuel and Nutrition
Carbohydrates provide the necessary basic needs of living bodies. For example, glucose (from carbohydrate compounds) which is the main nutrient cells. The bodys cells to absorb glucose and retrieve the stored energy to run the bodys cells. For humans, carbohydrates are a source of nutrients. In one gram of carbohydrates, there is an energy value equal to 4 calories.
Role In Energy Reserves
Several types of polysaccharides serve as energy reserves. Later, the stored energy will be hydrolysis to provide sugar to the cells when needed. Starch is a polysaccharide deposits in plants. Plants accumulate starch as granules or granules in the plastid organelles, including kroloplas. By synthesizing starch, herbs can pile up excess glucose. Glucose is the main fuel cell, so that the starch is stored energy.
The Role As a matter Builders
Organisms building materials stronger than structural polysaccharides. For example, cellulose is the main component of plant cell walls. Cellulose is like fibers, clay, insoluble in water, and is found mainly in the stalk, stem, branches, and all the woody parts of the plant tissue. Wood is mainly composed of cellulose and other polysaccharides. For example, hemicellulose, and pectin. Meanwhile, the cotton is made almost entirely of cellulose.
The Role As a Regulatory Fat Metabolism
Carbohydrates prevent the oxidation of fats that are not perfect. If enough energy is not available, will result in increased catabolism of fat. As a result, the accumulation of ketone bodies in the blood and occurs acidity.
Role For Protein saver
Energy is the bodys primary needs. Therefore, if the carbohydrates that come from insufficient food, protein is converted to produce an amount of energy. In fact, the protein has a primary function as builder substances and tissue repair. In order to be used according to its function, carbohydrate must be met in the daily menu.
Carbohydrate Sources
Carbohydrate is the main nutrient that must exist in a serving of the main meal, for the benefit of carbohydrates as a source of human energy. Eating foods with no carbohydrates cause us to be easily limp, no spirit and activity would quickly attacked panyakit.
There are a number of foods that contain high carbohydrates commonly consumed by humans. Heres a row of staple foods that contain carbohydrates, and used as a staple food in many countries:
- Rice
Rice is one of the most food sources consumed by humans. Especially Austronesian people, food consumption patterns, they are highly dependent on rice or rice. Rice is classified as plant seeds that live in watery land. Grain crops is a type of age only 110 to 115 days from planting seeds. Type of carbohydrate content of rice is amylose and amylopectin. In addition contains a lot of carbohydrates, there are other nutrients that sugar, protein, calcium, minerals and vitamin B.
The part that can be consumed in addition to grain inner skin is also better known as bran. Collected when the rice bran penggilangan process. The trick is filtered and separated between the outer skin / damen, bran / rice barn and white rice. Bran is rich in vitamin B complex that are beneficial to human health.
In the world there are many types of rice farming that each have their own characteristics and nutritional value are different. For example, grain glutinous rice white color and when ditanak result becomes sticky. Glutinous rice more delicious when made into snacks, or even ground into flour. There was also a red rice Vitamin B complex the sometimes higher than other types of rice.
- Yam
Yam or cassava is a staple food of high carbohydrates derived from types of tubers. Cassava in Latin Manihot esculenta, Euphorbiaceae in the tribe. Cassava leaves can be consumed by humans as a vegetable or also used as fodder.
In Indonesia, there are some people who make cassava as a staple food, namely rural Wonogiri and Gunung Kidul. They cultivate cassava as the land in which they live, it is very difficult to grow rice. Rice can not grow well in soil with minimal water. Therefore, mountain residents prefer cassava as staple food source. Moreover, the excess of cassava can grow on barren soil water content slightly. Additionally yam or cassava durable long-term storage. Cassava is preserved called cassava.
The content of nutrients in cassava is very diverse including: calories 121 cal, 34.00 grams carbohydrates, 33.00 grams of calcium, and also other phosphor, vitamin B 1, minerals, sugars, and so forth. Even today it is still consumed cassava but has undergone a process of modification of food. Cassava can be a wide variety of foods such as cassava cake, getuk, brownies and more.
- Potato
Potatoes are also included in the staple foods of plant tubers that contain high carbohydrates. According to historical sources, the potato Latin name Solanum tuberosum L. originated from South America. Is the main food Indian society. Potato is cultivated in Europe thanks to Christopher Columbus who brought home a sample of the food crops of the Americas. And eventually become one of the staples of Europeans and Americans.
Potato plants can flourish only in the upland farm, the weather was cold only. Soils used must be kept loose in order to maximize the growth of the tuber. Potatoes are seasonal crops, which is short. In the plant there are many bulbs that dihubangkan the root fibers. Potato tubers wrapped in yellow skin while the meat was thin and watery yellow.
Nutrient content in the potato is very diverse, which must contain carbohydrates, but the sugar content is very low. It also contains vitamins B1, B2, B3, fiber and calcium. Therefore, people with diabetes are encouraged to change the diet of rice is replaced with boiled potatoes, to control blood sugar levels. Potatoes are also very well taken daily as to diet, lose weight.
- Corn
Another food that is a source of carbohydrate is maize or Zea mays L. This plant is actually derived from the Latin American continent, tepatny from South and Central America. Maize is the staple food of the Aztecs and American Indians. Its history is the same as the potato spread to the world through the medium of sailors. Americans use corn as the primary protein source, while in Indonesia there are also people who make maize as a staple food, which is in Madura and communities on the island of Flores. The content of nutrients and carbohydrates in maize is similar to rice and wheat. So eating a plate of rice corn nutritional value equal to a serving of hot rice.
Such reviews about the benefits of carbohydrates and other foods that contain high energy. Hopefully useful.
Kiwi The Small Intestine Friend
Kiwi fruit had been known as one type of fruit is high in nutrients and vitamin C. But more than that, save the kiwi was also a hidden benefit that is needed by the human body.

Behind the brown furry skin and green flesh fruits, kiwi turned out to contain a digestive enzyme that can help the absorption of protein. Enzyme called actinidin. It is a protease enzyme (protein destruction) which is in the green kiwi fruit, serve to digest protein so readily absorbed.
As is known, in the digestive process that occurs from the mouth to the small intestine, the body needs a variety of digestive enzymes, namely protease (to digest protein), lipase (digests fat), and amylase (digests carbohydrates). A healthy digestive tract will prevent the entry of bacteria and toxins as well as keep the immune system. To keep the digestive tract stay healthy, your body needs nutritious foods such as fruit.
"Fruits contain fiber, probiotics, and digestive enzymes that aid digestion and absorption role. One fruit, kiwi green that is, containing vitamins and minerals, antioxidants, prebiotic fiber and enzymes actinidin," says nutrition expert from the Department of Nutrition School of Medicine, University of Indonesia, dr. Fiastuti Witjaksono, Sp.GK, Tuesday (05/08/2012), in Jakarta.
Another advantage is the kiwi fruit contains vitamin C two times higher than oranges and proved 5 times more effectively absorbed by the body. Kiwi fruit is also rich in folic acid is beneficial for women who want to get pregnant, also has a low glycemic index so it is safe for diabetics.
Aids the digestive process
Fiastuti explained, the fiber content in green kiwi fruit is very high compared to other fruits such as bananas, apples and oranges. Fiber in kiwi fruit is divided into two types of soluble fiber and insoluble fiber.
Soluble fiber plays a role in helping to keep blood sugar levels remain stable, with the help of sugar absorption is slower, thus causing an increase in blood sugar levels are not excessive and did not fall dramatically.
"Soluble fiber also helps stabilize the kiwi blood fat levels, by binding to fat and helps maintain blood lipid levels," he said.
Meanwhile, insoluble fiber helps maintain intestinal health by preventing constipation and feeding the good bacteria. Because, according to Fiastuti, intestinal tract not only function but also serves to keep the bad bacteria and prevent the introduction into the body, preventing the entry of toxins and keep the immune system.
So, if all these people think it only serves to intestinal absorption, thats wrong. If the colon is unhealthy, then the bacteria will easily fit into the intestinal cells, causing pain in the body.
"If we eat less insoluble fiber, bowel movements become difficult. As a result, toxins, dirt and bacteria in the gut will be longer. The longer he is in contact with the intestinal wall will damage the intestinal cells," explains Fiastuti.
Unique enzyme
Kiwi fruit has long been believed to help digestion in the stomach, in addition to fiber (fiber) is high, kiwi fruit contains a unique enzyme, which is a function actinidin protein digest so it is more easily absorbed by the body.
This was confirmed by two research laboratories, and one study with experiments on animals performed by Riddet Institute, Massey University and Zespri International. Research using Zespri green kiwifruit extract as the source of the enzyme actinidin. This study uses a method of laboratory studies to see digestion in the stomach and intestines.
In his study, researchers used a variety of food sources of protein such as beef, milk protein (whey protein), soy milk, wheat protein (gluten) protein of maize, collagen and gelatin. Then it tried to digest foods with simulated gastric and intestinal digestion supplemented with actinidin, which comes from the extract of kiwi fruit.
The results showed that, actinidin and fiber content in kiwi may help better protein digestion, helps maintain blood sugar and blood fats and Formatting maintain intestinal health.
"Protein is absorbed well will provide benefits as builder substances, replacing damaged cells and keep the body working properly metebolisme," .

Rare Photograph of the Ceremonial Cave Entrance at Mounds State Park

History of Madison County, Indiana, 1880
Above the spring represented in Plate E, and below the upper edge of the bluff, there are visible evidences of what appears to have been a subterranean passage communicating with the circular works A. It is said to have been, at one time, explored for a distance of sixty feet, where a round chamber, twelve feet in diameter, was reached. Beyond this the passage was closed, or nearly so, rendering a more extended exploration impracticable.

The spring that is situated at the cave entrance. The high level of iron oxides has stained the stones a deep red color. Red ochre was symbolic of the menses and regenerating powers of Mother Earth.

Serpentine stone mound situated adjacent to the entrance to the cave entrance. The serpent was the symbolic consort of the Earth Mother.
The giant radio controlled tank thats SO powerful it could pull your car
Its the ultimate boys toy for Christmas - a giant radio-controlled tank thats so powerful it can actually pull a car.
The 6ft long monster is a 1/4 scale model of a King Tiger, the German weapon which wreaked havoc among allied tanks during World War Two.
Weighing a whopping 250kg, the camouflaged tank has a fully working turret and a 2ft long gun with a realistic recoil action.

And speakers are fitted inside to simulate the tanks distinctive rumbling noise.
The tank is powered by two, 500 watt 24 volt motors which are so powerful that it can pull a car on a level surface.
The tank is the meanest machine available at Mark 1 Tanks, based in Easton, near Winchester, Hampshire.
And it holds the title of being the biggest radio controlled tank available in the world.
With all the options fitted the tank costs almost £10,000 but smaller versions are available for as little as £100.
Other models of tank are also available including the famous World War Two Sherman, the German Tiger 1 and the Russian T34.
Company founder Mark Spencer said he began building the tanks himself after buying a less detailed version from a seller in Russia.

He said: It looked a bit like a cheap toy from a toy shop but when I got it working it was fantastic and I thought, "I wonder if anyone else would like one of these."
I love history but in particular I love tanks - I think its a lad thing.
I sell to a really niche market but I think the people who buy the tanks are simply looking for the coolest toy they can find.
The tanks are the ultimate boys toys.
The larger tanks in the range are all put together by Mark himself in his warehouse with only the smaller, 1/35 scale models coming in kit form.
He said: Some parts are made in Russia and the motors are made in China but they all come to me here and I put the tanks together.
It can take me two days or it can take two hours to build one.
The larger tanks are made from one inch thick fibreglass but all the mechanical parts are metal.
We have more than 20 models but my favourite is the German King Tiger - I think its also our most popular model.

I think its the most recognisable and it was legendary in the war for being pretty indestructable and just destroying everything it shot at.
The basic 1/4 scale King Tiger costs from £6,600 but can get up to almost £10,000 with extras such as the rotating turret, the gun elevation and the speakers.
A 1/6 version costs 3,600 pounds while a kit to build your own 1/35 scale tank costs 100 pounds.
A 1/6 scale American Sherman tank with a British Firefly gun costs £3,600.
The very heavy armour and powerful long-range gun gave the 69 ton King Tiger the advantage against virtually all opposing Allied and Soviet tanks.
This was especially true on the Western Front, where the British and US forces had almost no heavy tanks with which to oppose it.
The popular American Sherman was unable to penetrate its seven-inch-thick armour even at point blank range.

Rolling the Dice with Teacher Professional Development
I am lucky to come into contact with some really special educators. Every day I see the most fantastic and energetic teachers helping their students, helping each other and helping themselves. Today we have some of these special teachers as guest bloggers. Annie Barton and Hayley Schirmer are two teachers who have developed a fun, interactive and inclusive way of developing teachers confidence in the touch and swipe environment. We have invited them to guest blog their story on providing professional development to their staff.
Rolling the Dice with Teacher Professional Development
Rolling the Dice with Teacher Professional Development
In January this year we took on the role of eLearning Leaders at Melbourne’s newly opened Albert Park College. Our aim for the year was to show and encourage teachers to transform learning and teaching through the meaningful use of iPads, and also to share our passion for using technology creatively to increase student engagement.
Albert Park College has a strong focus on professional development. Each week staff meet to engage in professional development focusing on particular areas such as differentiation, e5 Instructional Model and eLearning. Over the year, we have delivered a range of interactive professional learning sessions aimed at encouraging teachers to become immersed in the digital age.
Our biggest challenge was getting teachers to think about how apps can be used for more than just a token activity, but rather, to combine multiple apps to meet lesson outcomes. The following concept was born,
App + App + App = Outcome
In July this year at our annual two-day conference, we presented a session to staff with the intention of clearly demonstrating the possibilities of combining apps to meet a lesson outcome.
After lots of brainstorming we finally had the idea!! To use dice to help show how easy it is to combine apps and have a little fun! We used three dice, each dice represented a particular e5 principle; explore, explain or elaborate. It was easy to develop lists of apps for each e5 principle, but we narrowed them down to six apps for each dice with a focus on introducing new apps.
Explore – QR Reader, Notability, Twitter, Pinterest, Pulse and Wikinodes
Explain – Evernote, Over, Haiku Deck, Skitch and Messages
Elaborate – ReelDirector, Storify, iMovie, StripDesign and inFlowChart

Now to make the dice come to life…We printed each app as a sticker and manually created each of the dice. Little did we know our great idea would become hours of work. 40 people x 3 dice x 6 sides = 720 stickers to be placed carefully on each side of the dice and in the right combinations! That almost sent us crazy!
In addition to the dice, we created Idea Cards for each app, giving suggestions for how an app could be used across curriculums. This was used to help teachers stimulate creativity and ideas and extend this concept after the conference.

During the workshop we encouraged staff to consider an outcome for one of their lessons. Then, they needed to roll the dice and come up with a combination of apps that could be used to meet the lesson objective. This idea encouraged our teachers to consider the spontaneity of combinations of apps. If one app didn’t particularly meet the lesson requirements teachers were encouraged to roll a dice again.
What occurred during our session was teachers working together developing lessons with technology in the forefront of their minds. At the end of our sessions teachers had written a lesson that they could put straight into action when they returned to school, some even begin this process during our session.
As part of our objective for App + App + App= Lesson, we encouraged teachers to implement a culture of planning lessons around using apps that meet a certain criteria, rather than specific apps. We also encouraged teachers to encourage their students to use apps they felt met the outcome, rather than relying on the teacher knowing how to use every single app of the app store. We want to develop a culture of students teaching teachers, and students to think creatively to choose the best way for them to produce work for an outcome, rather than teachers limiting the only options.
Our workshop was really successful. We had teachers implementing their planning the very next week in classes, and students were excited that they no longer were told which apps to use for what. They had the freedom to conceptualise the product for each learning outcome.
We encourage you to give it a try at your school - what feedback do your teachers have about these ideas? How does it open up possibilities for lessons and outcomes in your subject areas? You can use any apps for this activity - and could even use it in the classroom with your students. We would love to hear from you, contact us via email or twitter.
